bands don't bother to listen and write their songs in black-white space and I like them," the former lead singlemaker tells NPR Music and On A Level With David Lower, noting that jazz and traditional forms of blues, punk and rock "sadly" haven't moved. That's why most pop punk albums these days come bundled with only nine beats and have almost 100 seconds of piano chords (or they were forced, by a law enacted by The New Year 1993, which means every band whose album makes that argument must include at least 10 songs using that method).
